The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on Trump to end Putin’s war in Ukraine, he added, “The end of the war must be a victory for U.S. President Donald Trump, not for Russian President Vladimir Putin.”
On Wednesday President Trump issued Putin with an ultimatum that if a “deal” is not reached soon to end the war then there will be harsher sanction on Russia.
Speaking to Bloomberg President Zelensky said that “I think the issue of ending the war in Ukraine must be a victory for Trump, not for Putin.
“Putin is nobody for him. America is much stronger, Europe is much stronger, China is stronger than Russia. They are all players.”
He added, “They (Russia) are big, they have a lot of weapons, and they don’t spare people.
“We are specifically defending Europe, NATO countries. And Putin will go there.
“That’s why Trump needs to come out on top. And he is capable of doing so.”
According to the former Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis, Europe must support the US President Donald Trump with his sanctions ultimatum to Vladimir Putin.
Landsbergis said that President Trump should place Putin into a difficult position by “issuing an ultimatum.”
“I’m sure this is not the way Putin expected things to work… Now Putin has to choose – accept that he fears new sanctions because his economy is a shambles, or prove that his imperialist ambitions will not be limited by these demands,” Landsbergis said.
“The ultimatum is a step in the right direction, but we must do more – not only sanctions, but also military support and security guarantees.
“By the way, if it wants to appear credible, the EU could at least announce support for Trump’s sanctions. And I trust that now even Orban will have to agree.”
