The Met Office has officially named Storm Eowyn which will bring 80mph winds that will lead to havoc.
The have warned of flying debris which could threaten lives, power cuts and the storm could cause damage to buildings.
Inland it is expected there will be winds of 60mph and on the coast winds will reach 80mph which could cause travel disruption to ferries, rail and airports.
The Met Office is urging people to prepare for a “weather bomb and to protect your property and people from injury.”
The Mert Office said, “If you are on the coast, stay safe during stormy weather by being aware of large waves. Even from the shore large breaking waves can sweep you off your feet and out to sea.
“Take care if walking near cliffs; know your route and keep dogs on a lead. In an emergency, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.”
