UK fighter jets defended Israel attack putting Britain in a ‘precarious position’

The British Defence Secretary has confirmed on Wednesday that two RAF Typhoon fighter jets and a refuelling tanker took part in defending Israel from Iran’s missile strike.

The US also defended Israel firing dozens of interceptors at Iranian ballistic missiles from destroyers which are located in the Middle East.

John Healey said that “due to the nature of this attack, they did not engage any targets” and they conducted an “important” role to deter further escalation.

Despite this a military analyst warned that this puts the US and UK in a “precarious position.”

Colonel Simon Diggins told Sky News that the UK and US was “perfectly proper” in their position they took to help defend Israel.

He added there will be a “huge reluctance to get involved in any offensive operations.”

He added, “They will not support them [Israel] in the conduct of attacks directly against Iran. So, we are in a very, very precarious position.”

The Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that the US and some “European countries” are responsible for the growing tensions across the Middle East.

Making his first speech since Iran attacked Israel, Khamenei said the West are responsible for the “clashes and anxieties” in the Middle East.

Khamenei said, “If they leave from this region, these wars and clashes will disappear from this region completely.

“They are the source of war and instability and with the help of god, they will be gone.”
