Following the largest attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure since the war started Kyiv launched a “mass drone attack” on an oil depot in western Russia.
A Ukrainian drone struck a “fuel infrastructure facility” in Russia’s Orlov region causing a massive explosion, Ukrainian military has not made any comment on the strike.
Regional governor Andrei Klychkov said on Saturday that Ukraine hit the Russian Oryol region with a “mass attack” using drones which struck a fuel storage facility sparking a fire.
The regional governor said that 11 drones were shot down and the fire was localised and there was no injuries to people on the ground.
Elsewhere a Russian Su-30 fighter jet was destroyed at the Krymsk military airfield in Krasnodar territory of Russia on Saturday morning.

The Main Intelligence Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said on Saturday, “On December 14, 2024, in the city of Krymsk in Krasnodar territory of the aggressor state of Russia, an enemy Su-30 fighter burned right at the airfield.”
The intelligence agency said on Friday three trains were hit due to a fire in the city of Krasnodar, adding, “the day before, on December 13, a devastating fire in the city of Krasnodar disabled three Russian railway locomotives.”
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Saturday there has been 205 clashes reported on the frontlines over the past day, the worst fighting is taking place in Pokrovsk axis in Donetsk region.
On Friday there was 131 combat clashes along the entire frontline and the “hottest fighting” is taking place in the Pokrovsk axis.
The General Staff said, “The enemy does not stop trying to advance deep into the territory of Ukraine. Currently, the enemy has attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 131 times. It is most active in Pokrovsk and Vremivka axes, where it carried out almost half of all attacks.”
